A dancing fin profile morphs into a desk, shelving, and cabinet system giving a playful expression to a small office space used for content creation.
MEDIA | SPACE at Orange Coast College is a room for content creation and photography within the Architecture Department. A dancing vertical fin profile defines the variable shelving, allowing for various storage possibilities. Each custom fin is CNC cut and assembled on-site. A desk and cabinet emerge out of the parametric array, both clad in Forbo Furniture Linoleum. This design/research project emerged out of a Design-Build Class taught by Joseph Sarafian, AIA at Orange Coast College in the Fall of 2024.
