Edge-Fold Remodel

This project began with the intent to weave together existing and new construction into a seamless remodel by building out a primary suite with laundry room that extends into the backyard. Walls are removed in the kitchen, extending sight lines into the dining and living room while creating a peninsula with bar seating and pendant lights. Skylights bathe the spaces with ample daylight, animating daily routines. The ribbon concept is carried into the backyard through a series of wrapping wood features including a roof eave that turns down into a privacy wall and a stair that becomes a wood enclosure, hiding the electric meter.
